The Torch Awards for EthicalEnterprising, a national award-winning “educate & recognize” program, is the premier public recognition of organizations that intentionally pursue the six TRUST! Principles of EthicalEnterprising.  Torch Award alumni benefit from ongoing program support and partner with the BBB to showcase and share their organization’s best practices on the web to inspire others to join the quest for optimal enterprising.

On a local level, the BBB of North Alabama has been recognizing companies for their commitment to the highest levels of integrity and ethics for the past 15 years through the presentation of the Torch Awards. The Torch Awards are now supported by the foundation established by the BBB: The Character Foundation of North Alabama.

The BBB Center for Character Ethics has brought together some of the most highly qualified and inspiring current workforce and future workforce ethics experts who have agreed to provide memorable remarks and keynotes to area service organizations and other leadership venues at no charge to qualified groups.

The Character Foundation of North Alabama offers speakers on the topic of Business Ethics, and is also in the process of expanding its Speakers Bureau to be able to offer a variety of related programs, including the “In Pursuit of Ethics” Training Modules.

This employee survey is designed and field-tested for participants to measure their organization’s ethical culture. The EthicalEnterprising Survey Assessment is available for leaders to benchmark and assess their progress leveraging the BBB Center for Character Ethics’ tools.

The EthicalEnterprising Workshops are tutorials that orient organizational leaders to the UncommonSense and EthicalEnterprising frameworks. Participants are coached and encouraged to create an intentional culture at work that improves the culture and readies the organization to qualify as a candidate for the BBB Torch Award.

 “In Pursuit of Ethics” generates in-depth discussion of ethical issues with group audiences. It offers reenactment of real-life situations where the audience sets the direction of the program by making decisions for the characters. With five different scenarios, “In Pursuit of Ethics” addresses ethical dilemmas that anyone might encounter. It is not another boring speech - it is interactive! All options have consequences…and they aren’t always predictable!  

The Character Foundation of North Alabama will begin offering the In Pursuit of Ethics Training Modules in early 2012.

This BBB Center for Character Ethics offers a tool box of quick web-based self-tutorials that help busy leaders reacquaint themselves with our BBB key tools: the UncommonSenseSM Framework for Leadership Character Ethics and the EthicalEnterprising Framework for building organizational trust.

The BBB TRUST! In A Box is currently being incorporated into the Community of Character Initiative underway through the BBB’s Character Foundation of North Alabama.
